About

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure where to begin. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly and start to make sense of what’s happening in your life. Alongside this, I employ evidence-based techniques to help you make the changes you want to see. Some issues I can help with include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addiction, OCD and low self-esteem.

My Style & How I Work

Clients often describe me as warm, kind and easy to talk to. My approach is collaborative - I bring my expertise in delivering therapy and you bring your expertise in what it's like to be you. If it's your first time in therapy, it may be that I will be doing more of the talking until you feel comfortable opening up and bringing your own ideas. We work together at a pace that feels right for you, with time to pause, reflect and explore.
My first job when we work together is to build a strong and trusting relationship where you feel confident to talk about the things that are most uncomfortable for you without fear of judgement. Many times, simply saying these things out loud and finding that you are still valued and respected can be the first step on the road to recovery. My role as a therapist is always dynamic, meaning that I am constantly making choices about whether to sit back and give you space to speak and explore, or whether to offer respectful interventions and challenges about some of your thought patterns and assumptions. I will often make suggestions about techniques and behaviour changes that you could start to implement and I will always encourage you to do the same.
My Story & What Drives Me

My interest in therapy began through personal experience as a client. I know what it’s like to take that first step and put my trust in a stranger, while not being quite sure what to expect. My own transformative experience with therapy inspired me to make a career change so that I could help other people on their own journeys.
The best part of my job is seeing people grow in confidence and make changes in their life that they had never believed possible.
Types of Therapy I Offer

I work online with adults. Sessions can be short-term and structured, focusing on specific goals using CBT and mindfulness techniques, or longer-term, exploring deeper patterns and emotional themes through an integrative approach. I adapt the style and pace of therapy to suit your needs, whether you prefer a practical, problem-solving focus or a more reflective, exploratory process.

My Expertise & Focus Areas

My initial training was a three-year Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, which gave me the skills to listen closely to whatever you are trying to say and provide a fresh perspective without ever making you feel judged. I also hold a BSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy that has equipped me to work in a more solution-focused with with specific issues, such as OCD, addiction and phobias.
My most recent training qualified me to practice EMDR, which is the NHS's frontline treatment for PTSD and is also very useful for working with other types of trauma and phobias.I have previously worked as a therapist in the NHS and with Mind. Both these positions have allowed me to work with a very broad range of clients and issues across the whole of society.I am an accredited member of the BACP, which means I abide by their comprehensive ethical guidelines at all times.

My Therapeutic Approach & Methods

My foundation is Integrative Therapy, which means I draw from several psychological approaches to meet you where you are. I pay close attention to how past experiences and current thought patterns shape how you feel today.
When helpful, I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to challenge unhelpful thinking and mindfulness practices to build awareness and reduce stress. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach for trauma and distressing experiences that can help bring lasting relief when words alone aren’t enough.
Therapy is a chance to slow down, reflect and begin to make sense of things in a new way. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood or a more specific issue, we can work together to help you move forward with greater confidence and understanding. If you would like to take the next step together, I will be very happy to hear from you.
