Talking can reduce anxiety and help to confront difficult feelings making them easier to understand and manage.
My training is as a psychodynamic counsellor. This approach will help you to reflect upon your experiences and help you to understand why you are feeling the way you are, and how to reflect on this and integrate these experiences. It is through this process that you will feel enabled to make changes to alleviate your anxiety and distress.
I recognise that on occasions a broader approach is required, I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy which focusses on the here and now, and Transactional Analysis (TA) which looks at behavioural patterns, I will use elements of all these approaches in my sessions as appropriate.
Counselling is a personal experience, each person is different. I do not offer advice, but work with you in such a way as to bring about change and progress. is a talking therapy where you can explore your issues and problems in a safe, confidential and neutral space.
Whatever it is that is worrying you, I can help you to express your feelings and provide a different perspective on these issues.
