I offer a warm, friendly, non-judgmental, compassionate space. As a member of the BACP I adhere to their ethical framework. My practice is currently online only due to the pandemic. I usually offer sessions face to face (as well as online) in Central London.
My approach to working with clients is integrative - which means I am influenced by a variety of theoretical frameworks. This allows a creative and flexible style of working which considers individual uniqueness. Therefore we might look through various lenses together to support you in your awareness and connection to your mind-body-soul.
I have a particular interest in how early trauma impacts the body and how it shapes people generally. Whatever you bring, what is most important I believe, is that you feel that you are sitting with someone who is truly listening to you and whom you feel confident in. The therapeutic relationship itself is also a source of rich material. It can often give insights into how we relate to others outside the therapy room and our early attachments.
To date I have worked in generalist holistic therapy centre and a specialist centre where I still volunteer as a Counsellor to members of the LGBTQ community. I have experience in a range of issues such as: relationships, bereavements, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexuality, gender identity, integenerational trauma, sexual and physical abuse.
Prior to my training in Counselling, I trained as a Complementary Therapist and am still in practice. I also have over 20 years experience in the social care and housing field - specialising in mental health. This work has certainly enriched my ability to connect with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
I appreciate it takes courage to reach out and access therapy. If we decide to work together, an initial assessment is then arranged. I work with people on a short or open ended contract. In your first session, we will discuss what is part of the contract. For example, confidentiality, days and times of sessions, cancellations, holidays and focus of the work.
