About Maria
I am a registered MBACP (Accred) psychotherapist offering a compassionate and non judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported. I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, with a particular focus on workplace related challenges such as stress, burnout and workplace bullying. Together, we will explore your concerns at your own pace, helping you make sense of your experiences and move towards a more fulfilling and authentic way of living.
My journey into psychotherapy has been shaped by both professional experience and a deep curiosity about the human condition. Working across a range of mental health and organisational settings over the years, I became increasingly aware of how profoundly our environments, particularly the workplace, can impact our sense of self, wellbeing and relationships. At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change begins when people feel truly seen, heard and understood, creating space for reflection, self awareness and sustainable personal growth.
What I find most rewarding about my work is witnessing the shifts that can happen when someone begins to understand themselves more deeply, whether that is gaining clarity about patterns in relationships, feeling more confident setting boundaries, or simply feeling less alone in their experiences. I believe many of our struggles are not signs of weakness, but meaningful responses to the environments and experiences we have lived through, and this understanding continues to shape the compassion and curiosity I bring into my work.

Key Focus Areas
I support adults experiencing workplace stress, burnout, workplace bullying, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self esteem, bereavement, life transitions and cultural or expatriate adjustment. I feel particularly suited to working with individuals who may feel stuck, overwhelmed or impacted by difficult relational dynamics, especially within professional environments where confidence, identity and wellbeing may have been affected over time.
My professional background in mental health spans over a decade across NHS primary care services, Employee Assistance Programmes, charitable organisations, private practice and international settings within both the UK and Greece. I am currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling as part of Middlesex University London, with a clinical and research specialisation in workplace bullying, alongside qualifications in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology and child and adolescent mental health.
Therapeutic approach
My style as a therapist is warm, empathic and collaborative. I aim to create a space that feels safe, calm and non judgemental, where you can speak openly and at your own pace. Whilst I am gently supportive, I also value honesty and thoughtful reflection, and may offer observations or questions that help deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences. Building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my work, and I approach this through consistency, emotional presence and genuine attentiveness.
My core therapeutic framework is existential and integrative, meaning I see each person as unique and do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. Alongside existential psychotherapy, I draw from person centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic thinking and transactional analysis depending on what feels most helpful for you. Together, we may explore current experiences, relational patterns, past influences and unhelpful ways of thinking, helping you develop greater self awareness, clarity and more supportive ways of responding to life’s challenges.

Individual
I offer individual therapy for adults on both a short term and long term basis, tailoring the therapeutic process to your individual needs and what feels most helpful for you. My approach is integrative, with a strong foundation in existential psychotherapy, allowing us to explore your experiences, emotional patterns, relationships and sense of meaning in a thoughtful and collaborative way. Some clients benefit from a more reflective and exploratory space, whilst others may prefer a more structured or goal oriented approach. Throughout the process, I aim to remain flexible, responsive and attuned to your needs, ensuring therapy feels relevant, supportive and meaningful whilst helping you develop greater self awareness, emotional resilience and clarity.
