About Josephine
I believe that healing often begins when people feel truly heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. My role is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your story, gain new insight, and develop the tools needed to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and empowering.
My journey into psychotherapy grew from a lifelong interest in people and the experiences that shape who we become. Early in my career I worked in training and later in various corporate roles, where I gained valuable insight into how people communicate, cope with challenges, and navigate relationships. Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to deeper conversations about life, relationships, and personal struggles. This eventually led me to train as a psychotherapist so that I could support people in a more meaningful and lasting way. Today I work as a multicultural integrative psychotherapist, supporting individuals and couples who are navigating relationship challenges, trauma, emotional difficulties, or periods of personal change. My work is grounded in the belief that every person's story is unique, and that therapy should reflect that individuality.
At the heart of my approach is the belief that therapy is not about a "one-size-fits-all" method. Instead, it is a collaborative process where we explore your experiences together and develop an approach that feels right for you. I work in a trauma-informed and holistic way, recognising that our wellbeing is influenced by many interconnected aspects of life — including our psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual experiences.

Key Focus Areas
My work as a psychotherapist is informed by a diverse range of professional training and qualifications. I hold an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) in Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and certifications in Trauma-Informed Counselling, Youth Counselling, and Christian Counselling. I am also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Life Coach and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Self Leadership. In addition, I have completed further professional development in therapeutic approaches including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I am also the author of The Pre-Marital Pep Talk, reflecting my interest in relationship dynamics and personal growth.
This breadth of training allows me to work in an integrative and holistic way, supporting clients as they explore the deeper experiences that influence their emotional wellbeing and relationships. I work extensively with clients on inner child work, family-of-origin (FOO) patterns, attachment dynamics, and trauma, helping them develop greater self-awareness and understanding of how past experiences shape present behaviours. Through this process, clients are empowered to develop new perspectives, healthier relationship patterns, and practical tools that support them in navigating life's challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
Therapeutic approach
My approach to individual therapy is integrative and personalised. I do not believe that one therapeutic style fits everyone, so I tailor my approach to reflect each client's unique experiences, needs, and goals. While drawing from a range of therapeutic methods, my work remains holistic, recognising the connection between our psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. This allows therapy to support deeper understanding, personal growth, and meaningful change.
When working with couples, my aim is to create a safe and respectful space where both partners feel heard and understood. I recognise that couples often seek therapy because they genuinely want to heal and strengthen their relationship. I remain impartial while helping each partner explore their experiences and identify the deeper patterns and root causes affecting their relationship. My approach is holistic, recognising the emotional and psychological dynamics that influence how couples connect and communicate. As the author of The Pre-Marital Pep Talk, I also draw on my knowledge of relationship dynamics to empower couples with practical tools that support healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
My work is grounded in an integrative, multicultural, and trauma-informed approach. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy; instead, I tailor my work to each client's unique experiences, needs, and goals. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including Gestalt therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, Psychodrama, Transactional Analysis, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), NLP coaching, and inner child work. These approaches allow us to explore both present challenges and the deeper patterns that may be rooted in earlier life experiences. My work often involves exploring family-of-origin dynamics, attachment patterns, and unresolved trauma, helping clients gain deeper self-awareness and understanding of how past experiences shape current behaviours and relationships.
