Client reflections

“Finding Dilek felt like finally being handed the key to a door I had been pushing against for years. I came to her carrying so much from my childhood and my adult life: quiet hurts, old patterns, an attachment to toxicity I couldn't even name at the time. What she gave me, gently and patiently, was the space to finally say those things out loud. And the moment I could hear my own words, everything started to make sense. I understood what I had been doing, why I had been doing it, and what I never wanted to carry forward again. Dilek helped me see how our childhood travels with us in quiet, almost miraculous ways, shaping things we don't even notice. Somewhere in our conversations, I made a promise to myself, borrowing a line that had stayed with me: I would no longer bleed on people who hadn't cut me. To gather the courage to turn a new leaf and begin again, I needed exactly this kind of space and I'm so grateful I found her. Dilek didn't just listen; she helped me sort through my life with such warmth and wisdom. I'm leaving our sessions a lighter, clearer, kinder version of myself, and I cannot thank her enough.”

About Dilek

I am a psychotherapist working with adults and adolescents who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, whether this shows up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or a sense of disconnection from themselves. I offer a calm, compassionate, and collaborative space where we slow things down and work at depth, helping you understand not only what you feel, but why your system responds the way it does. Drawing on approaches including Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), and Internal Family Systems (parts-based work), I support clients to build inner safety, process unresolved experiences, and develop greater choice, resilience, and self-trust.

My work is grounded in the belief that people do not need to be fixed, but need to feel safe enough to be understood. Healing happens when the nervous system is supported to settle and experiences are met with curiosity rather than judgement. I work at a pace the body can tolerate, valuing safety, containment, and respect for each person’s unique process. Therapy is not about forcing insight, but about creating the right conditions for awareness and emotional processing to emerge naturally. Clients often describe my approach as gentle, thoughtful, supportive, and grounding.

My journey into therapy grew from a long-standing curiosity about emotional pain, human behaviour, and the ways people adapt to survive difficult experiences. Through personal experience and professional training, I became deeply aware of how early relationships and unmet needs shape the nervous system and sense of self. This awareness guides my commitment to offering a space where experiences are met with depth, compassion, and respect.

Key Focus Areas

I commonly support clients experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, attachment difficulties, low self-worth, burnout, identity questions, and major life transitions. I am particularly well suited to working with sensitive, neurodivergent, and highly self-aware clients who feel dysregulated or misunderstood.

My qualifications include BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling, Diploma in REBT, Level 3 Deep Brain Reorienting Practitioner, and Level 1 Internal Family Systems training.

Therapeutic approach

My approach is integrative and relational, shaped by an understanding of nervous system regulation, attachment, and lived experience. I pay close attention to emotional, cognitive, and bodily responses, working collaboratively to build awareness, safety, and choice.

I integrate DBR for trauma processing, REBT for working with beliefs and self-criticism, and parts-based work to support internal compassion and integration. Methods are used flexibly and thoughtfully, always guided by what feels most supportive and safe.
