About
My name is Martha, I am a person-centred therapist and I truly believe that we all have the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life, no matter the challenges we face. As a qualified and compassionate therapist, I offer both short-term and long-term counselling for adults and young people aged 16 and over.
With a strong person-centred influence, I take a psychodynamic and integrative approach to understanding your life experiences. The ways we learn to cope—our defences—often stem from self-protection. While they may have once served us, they can now stand in the way of living fully. With curiosity and compassion, we will explore where these patterns come from, how early experiences have shaped you, and how they may be contributing to feelings of unhappiness, confusion, or being lost—leading you to seek therapy.
Life can feel overwhelming, and you may find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, experiences of domestic or sexual abuse, self-harming behaviours, or even suicidal thoughts. But you don’t have to face these challenges alone. My counselling approach is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring the support you receive is personal, effective, and meaningful.
In a safe and supportive space, we will explore the difficulties you are facing and uncover strategies to help you manage life’s challenges. Our work will focus on processing emotions, building resilience, and empowering you to move forward with confidence, clarity, and hope.
Whether you’re seeking immediate support or embarking on a deeper journey of self-discovery, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
