About
Hello. My name is Lucy. Welcome to my profile. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Developmental Psychologist. I am also an Existential and Mindfulness Coach. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I do not believe that one cap fits all. I am thus trained in various therapeutic theories including Person-centred counseling which originates from Existential philosophy, Psychodynamics therapy, and CBT.
I also have extensive training in Existential and Jungian therapies. Originating from this background as an Integrative Psychotherapist, I have gained much experience working in substance abuse residential services and CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) as well as numerous other organisations. Working within these organisations, I noticed that many of my clients had a history of childhood abuse.
I therefore became curious about the potential relationship between substance abuse and deleterious family environments during childhood. Following this interest I wanted to develop, I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my postgraduate degree in Family and Child Psychology, specifically working with at-risk families. In recent years, I have also achieved a PhD in Existential Philosophy from which I have gained an extra qualification as a Philosophical Coach. Within this role, I help people obtain meaning in their lives by collaboratively exploring their values and how they can use these to give meaning to their lives. My most recent qualification obtained earlier this year is as a Mindfulness Coach. My application of different tools and techniques enables me to work with and help me to support people with various difficulties. The people I work with present various issues ranging from Bereavement, Greif, Anxiety, depression, personality disorders, abuse, and trauma. People also approach me to come to terms with certain life stages such as motherhood and menopause. I thus work in helping people explore newly developed identities and roles.
As a therapist, I understand that grief is a deeply personal and often complex experience. My role is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore the layers of your loss at your own pace. Together, we’ll work through feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, or any other emotions that may arise, honouring them as natural parts of the healing process. I use a blend of supportive techniques tailored to each individual, helping you to navigate these feeling and find a way to finding peace again.
