About
I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2009 and since then I have worked with people on a wide variety of issues including OCD, phobias (including tokophobia, a fear of pregnancy and childbirth), general anxiety, bereavement, low self esteem, depression, relationships and weight issues. As well as running my own private practice, I have worked as an affiliate CBT Therapist with the NHS as well as several Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs). I decided on this profession as having had therapy myself, I know that it can make such a difference and I'm passionate about helping others fulfill their potential and not be held back in life by issues that can be dealt with.
Although my training was in CBT, I like to use an integrative approach as we are all different and respond to different ways of working. I use a mixture of acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and compassion focused therapy alongside traditional CBT methods.
In addition to 1:1 therapy I am a clinical supervisor for other therapists and I have also delivered educational and self-help workshops around topics of anxiety and weight loss.
I am an accredited member of COSCA, the professional body for counsellors in Scotland and am fully insured by the Psychologists Protection Society.
