General Information
- What is UK Therapy Guide?
- UK Therapy Guide is a trusted online therapy platform that connects clients with carefully vetted UK-based therapists. Founded by Floss Knight, who brings over 30 years of therapy experience, we personally interview and select each therapist to ensure they meet our high standards of care and professionalism.
- How is UK Therapy Guide different from other therapy platforms?
- Unlike other platforms that rely solely on algorithms, we offer a uniquely personal approach. Our founder personally interviews every therapist, and our placement team has intimate knowledge of each therapist's style, personality, and expertise. We focus on quality over quantity, ensuring meaningful matches rather than just convenient ones.
- Is online therapy effective?
- Yes, research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health issues. Our clients report high satisfaction rates, and we're rated 4.5/5 on Trustpilot. Online therapy offers the same quality of care with added convenience and accessibility.

Sessions and Booking
- How do therapy sessions work?
- Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and can be conducted via video call or phone, depending on your preference. They take place at a regular time each week, creating a consistent space for your therapeutic work.
- What happens in the first session?
-
The first session is an assessment session where you and your therapist will:
- Get to know each other
- Discuss your reasons for seeking therapy
- Explore your goals
- Agree on a therapeutic approach
- Plan the way forward
- How often should I attend therapy?
-
We recommend weekly sessions, especially at the start of therapy. We encourage an initial commitment of six sessions after your assessment, as this allows enough time to establish a therapeutic relationship and begin making meaningful progress.
